Motor Racing
Motor racing is a very popular sport that has been practiced in many different forms across the world since the invention of the motorcar. There and many and varied types of motor racing ranging from rallying, stock car racing and Formula one. The earliest examples of motor racing would have been very simplistic affairs compared to modern day events. Some of the earliest recorded motor racing examples very simply races between two towns on public roads. These early competitive motor racing events often took place in France, which has a rich motor racing history.
One of the most popular motor racing events is the Grand Prix, which is a formula one championship held every year. The Grand Prix is televised and watched by millions of motor racing enthusiasts across the world. The highly specialised Formula One cars that are used by competitors in these motor racing events are always single seater, open wheeled vehicles. That are precision engineered and some are capable of reaching top speeds in excess of 200 miles per hour. Naturally, in a motor racing event where the vehicles achieve such high speeds there are some serious safety issues that need to be taken into account. There have been some serious accidents in formula one motor racing in the past and measures are taken to ensure that these incidents are not repeated. Most vehicles that are used in these high speed motor racing events have a limits placed on their top speed.
